For those of you who know our family, music is in our blood. So it should be no surprise that Hattie seems to have a love of music and has recently taken up singing as her new hobby. While we still have some work to do on pronunciation, we couldn't be more proud of her and have captured her singing one of her favorite songs, Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.
Enjoy.

Baby Calves
I have fond memories of going to calving season when I was a little girl. Mom would bundle me up in coveralls, scarfs, hats, gloves, boots, and more before she'd let me out the door. Dad would take me into the calving barn, always on guard to make sure we didn't disturb the new moms and her babies. I even vividly remember getting to "help" pull a few calves, although dad would make me stand outside the barn during the procedure. Nevertheless I felt a part of the action. Now, twenty-some years later it's all coming back to me. Bundling Hattie up for her first escapade to the calving barn, scolding her dad to be careful and extra protective, and then laughing as he sets her on a baby calf in attempt to give Hattie a ride.

Growing Up
Our baby girl is growing up right before our eyes. In just a few more days she will be a crawlin', droolin', babble'n 9-month old. She is such a sweet little girl and always sporting that little grin of hers. Before we know it, she'll be turning1, then 5, then 15... Sigh. Since we cannot do anything to stop time, we will just keep on cherishing every moment spent chasing her around the house, watching her torment the cat, scolding her as she licks every last piece of furniture we own, and laughing every time she makes that "e-trade baby" face she does so well. We love you, Hattie Ruth.
Splish, Splash!
She was takin' a bath. Long about a Tuesday night. Rub-a-dub just a readin' in the tub.
She sure does love her books!
Eatin' bubbles. Why not.

Me 'N' Dad
It amazes me that just six months ago these two were meeting for the first time. I knew as soon as Mike laid eyes on this little girl he would be changed forever. And I was right. These two have been like "peas and carrots" ever since. I claim that Hattie likes her dad "more" because of all the fun things he lets her do, like drive the care to daycare in the morning, drink from his glass, share ice cream, and the list goes on... I wouldn't want it any other way. I love these two, goofy smiles and all.
XOXO, Mom

Our YouTube Baby
Ok people. I work for a technology company and yet technology has me stumped again. This is the best I can offer up for seeing home videos of our little peanut.
